Please read all of the information below before logging on to the system at the link provided at the bottom of this page.


This office is responsible for the permitting and regulating of hazardous materials within the State of Nevada.  Because of their inherent ability to cause death, injury and damage to property, hazardous materials require reasonable controls for the handling and use.

      Requests for Information

      Please use this form to request information about a company or facility in the Nevada Combined Hazardous Materials database.

      Important System Notices

      If you no longer require a hazardous materials permit because you sold or closed the business, the chemicals no longer are reportable, or no longer meet the minimum threshold, you need to complete the Notice of Change Form and, if applicable, the Termination of Hazardous Materials Storage Form. Once complete mail it to our office at the address on the form.

      System User Change

      If you are changing the User of the system because they no longer work there or have moved on to a different job, please fill out the User Change Request Form.  Only one User is allowed per company.

      Invoice Processing Error

      If you are completing your submission and have generated your invoice, please call the Financial Services Unit if it shows a credit on your account. We have experienced problems with the data transferred from the old system showing incorrect billing on accounts.

        Have all these items gathered before entering the system

        • MSDS Sheets for each chemical
        • Contact names and unique phone numbers for each one
        • Each chemical amount converted into pounds
        • Locations of chemicals
        • Container types
        • Container pressure types
        • The Physical and Health Hazards associated with each chemical
        • The IFC Material Types for each chemical
        • Turn off all pop-up blockers on your web-browser and computer

          DO NOT MAIL IN HARDCOPIES OF YOUR ONLINE SUBMISSION, MSDSs, SITE PLANS, EVACUATION PLANS OR EMERGENCY RESPONSE PLANS. WE DO NOT NEED THEM AS ALL YOUR DATA IS ONLINE NOW.

            The system rolls over yearly on or around the 2nd week in January.  SARA TIER II is for the previous years information and the State Fire Marshal reporting is for the current years information thus why we call it the Combined HAZMAT reporting system.

            Submission deadline is March 1 of every year!

             

            Please ensure that you add our email address: hazmat@dps.state.nv.us to your un-block list so that you can receive our automated messages for your account and any updates. You must be able to receive our emails so that you know your permit is ready to be downloaded and to receive our message once a year telling you it is time to submit again. This is your responsibility to ensure your email account is correct and can receive our emails as you will get no other contact from our office about your account except via email.

                **NO CASH ACCEPTED, only checks or money orders via snail mail or we accept VISA, Master Card, Discover and E-CHECK, No other cards accepted at this time.**

                **Please be advised that as of April 12, 2019, customers paying invoices or fees with a credit card will be charged a non-refundable card payment processing fee of 3.25% by our payment processor. There will be no additional charge for e-checks.**
